PASTOR EDMUNDO G. HOCSON – is the founder and CEO of LEYTE BAPTIST CHURCHES AND MINISTRIES – FRONTLINERS FOR CHRIST a non-profit and by Faith mission group. Year 1984, he got saved while working in a Consulting Engineers firm for Roads and Bridges thru his co-worker life Testimony in San Jose, Antique, Panay Island.
He is married to Paglaum Gequillana Acosta of Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, Philippines, She came from a family of missionaries working in Thailand. A graduate of Bachelor degree in Community Nutrition and Dietetics. Then, work as Provincial Nutritionist in the Department of Social Work and development assigned in the Province of Antique, Panay, Island. Due to her pregnancy, she was force to resigned and went back to Negros were she employed as part time English Teacher at Fellowship Baptist College. After giving birth to the first born son, she has to stay at home to take care of her family.
As a Pastor’s wife, she has a submissive and supportive heart for church mission. Menot as her friend called her, is an encourager and motivator in the ministry. Presently, she is the Academic head of the Christian school were they founded.
Pastor Hocson born on a tough Roman Catholic Family, and not a single idea in his mind of becoming a Minister of the Gospel. Year 1986, God call him to a full time Seminary student. Without hesitation, he resigned from his job, together with his family and went to Doane Baptist Seminary for a full time Pastoral Training likewise, her wife was employed as school Dietician where she manages the kitchen section of the Seminary.
Pastor Hocson graduated in 1989, where he pastored for five years at Doane Baptist church of Villa, Arevalo, Iloilo City. There he gained more experience in church management as well as in church missions. His heart was so heavy that he follow the leading of God on his heart, Year 1991, He resigned from the church and sailed together with his family to Isabel, Leyte to start a Pioneering mission work.
The HOCSONs has a big heart for missions, recently their ministry is expanding and extending its border, from Northwest, Leyte, Philippines to 10/40 window country. Shifting of his work to trained Christian where he share the vision and burden of winning souls for the glory of God. By the grace of God, From 1991 to this very present, they are working at the same mission field but entreating our great God to open more 10/40 mission field. Together with his family they have weathered all the difficulties and hardship, always trusting the Lord for sufficient grace.
They are blessed with two sons, Kristian Von - who’s working as a web programmer and Joshua Caleb - a graduate at the Doane Baptist Seminary, Iloilo CitY and now serving as full time Missionary in Camotes Island,Cebu.
