My wife and I was privileged to visit the place Adelaide, South Australia last September 2008. For at least 3 weeks we were able to visit friends, relatives and some Baptist churches. We enjoyed the God’s blessing to us.
On the other hand, I noticed that churches there were old, big and of good structures. My heart was broken when I heard that some churches were closed and for sale in conversion to commercial store and others. Likewise, merging was the last recourse of the church just to go on. I visited a church where the members were most old people, few younger ones attended the worship service. There was a church named Uniting church were the member came from different churches and agreed to unite and form on church. I don’t want to judge whether the church has a cold heart for mission or already comfortable of being like that. Well, God knows.
In God’s time, as a sovereign God, there is a Filipino Pastor who took the church leadership in leading these flocks for worship and fellowship. Church members are OFWs and almost are migrant to this place. Even though they are only renting a place, yet they have a burning desire to reach not only Filipino but also Australians. Please pray for Pastor Abel Rillera and his Family.
Christian, one thing we see is that; are the PROPHESY in the last days fulfilling….? The Bible tell us that churches in the last days are either COLD or HOT. ( Lukewarm ). The challenge is laid before us : Our Great God is now calling and enlisting men and women to work in God’s vineyard.
Filipino Christians are now ready for mission whether local or foreign mission, short or long term , full-time or part-time, Career or Tent making mission …… but the bottom line is ………… DO YOU HAVE A BIG HEART AND A BURNING PASSION TO WIN SOULS FOR OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST…. ??????
ENLIST NOW FOR MISSION !
