National/Native missionaries are a viable and effective means to carry out the Great Commission in their native land because of the following;
- Nationals are culturally conditioned and sensitive to reaching their own people.
- Nationals don’t need to spend years in studying a language in order to communicate
- Nationals, being born and raised in their country in which they ministering are physically and psychologically adjusted to both climate and culture-thus making more effective in mission work.
- Nationals, being a natural born citizen, have rights and privileges that might not be extended to a foreigner.
- Nationals, unlike western missionaries, do not need to go home on furlough every few years for rest and to raise additional support.
- Nationals are economically conditioned to live on $50 to $80 a month in many parts of the world. By contrast, the average cost for sending and sustaining a foreign missionary family of four is $35,000-$50,000 a year.
- Most of all, foreign missionaries are prone to danger and target of “ kidnap for ransom” by the terrorist. So, why not support the national/native missions.

Indigenous missionaries will be supported and encouraged by providing support materials and training, assisting in building churches and Schools, helping in feeding children, and providing financial and prayer support.
Foreign churches or organizations have the opportunity to partner with a national missionary. Thus there will be a sense of accomplishment and greater commitment concerning the furtherance of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
